Author & Storyteller

Hi, I'm Kaira — and I write stories.

I'm eleven, and I write about friendship, courage, and the small brave moments that change everything. My first book came out when I was nine — there are two now, and more waiting their turn. Some of my characters start life as crochet toys, made by hand before I know who they are.

The Books

Two books, so far

Both are collections of short stories written for readers who are just discovering how good a book can be.

Book three is in progress

I'm drafting something new right now — and you get a say in who it's about.

Where the money goes

Every dollar goes to Seattle Angels

I didn't write these to make money. All the profit from Stitched Stories and Joyful Journeys goes to Seattle Angels, who support kids and families in foster care — because every kid should get to visit story-land.

My Writing

What my stories are about

Friendship

The kind that gets tested, and holds anyway.

Courage

Usually quiet. Usually smaller than people expect.

Everyday magic

Ordinary places with something extraordinary tucked inside.

Growing up

Characters who end the story different from how they started.

“My head is always full of stories, characters, and crochet ideas. Sometimes they even keep me awake at night! I hope my stories inspire you to imagine, create, and believe that every little idea can become something wonderful.”

Your turn

Two things you can do right now

🗳️ Vote for my next character

I've crocheted five characters and only one of them has a story. You decide who gets written about next.

Libraries & classrooms — let's do something together

I'd love to come and read from my books, or teach a group of kids to crochet their own character. I'm especially keen to work with local public libraries.
