Where the characters come from
I make these with a hook and a ball of yarn, and then I work out who they are. Some of them became characters in Stitched Stories. The rest are just things I liked making.
Yarn first, words second
Making something with your hands is a strange kind of research. While I'm counting stitches I'm also deciding whether this bunny is shy or bold, and who its friends are. By the time it's finished I usually know the story.
